It is that time of year again, the end of Daylight Saving Time (DST) is upon us.
On 28
th October, DST will end in Europe and the trading hours of some specific instruments may be affected until the end of DST in the USA on 4
th November.
With the end of DST in Europe, the below-listed instruments will now be opening and closing one hour earlier:
- US30Index
- US500Index
- USTECHIndex
- JAPANIndex
- WTICrude
- BrentCrud
- DXY
- Precious metals (XAGUSD, XAUUSD)
*Forex will be operating normally except Friday, November 2
nd - early close at 23:00 server time (GMT+2)
How will this affect you?
Well, the first thing that you’ll notice is that your MT4/MT5 time will have changed to GMT +2 (one hour back from the GMT +3 you should see now). It is very likely that this won’t impact your trading at all. However, with that said and depending on your current time zone, this could mean that the market will open an hour later on Monday morning. Take advantage of the extra hour’s sleep, if so.
GMT Offset
Expert Advisors (EAs) using a GMT offset feature must be changed to +2 before the opening of the market.
